SMPS INFORM | October 13
The President-Elect's Corner
It’s never too late to get involved. And yes, I’m pointing at you.
I’m helping build our next team of SMPS Indiana board leaders, committee chairs, and committee members, and I want to hear from you. Bring your ideas, your experience, your curiosity, and your enthusiasm for this AEC community.
You don’t have to wait until someone asks… consider this me asking.
Ready to lead? The nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, October 16. Reach out to me to self-nominate or talk through an open board or chair position. Have someone in mind who would be a great fit? Send me their name, and I’ll reach out.
Want to help make things happen? Join a committee. Help shape our programs, welcome members, build connections, or tell our chapter’s story. You don’t need to have it all figured out before we talk.
Limited availability, endless enthusiasm? Let’s find a smaller opportunity that fits. Microvolunteering counts and can really make a difference.
There’s more than one way to contribute. Let’s find yours.

President-Elect, SMPS Indiana

CPSM
Could 2027 Be the Year You Add “CPSM” After Your Name?
Thinking about earning your Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) certification? You don’t have to tackle it alone! SMPS Indiana is forming a CPSM Study Group to help members prepare for the March 2027 testing window.
Beginning in November, we’ll work our way through the six CPSM Domains of Practice together through virtual study sessions, discussion, and support from CPSMs who have been through the process. Can’t make every session? That’s okay! Join us when you can and keep studying in between.
Mark your calendar for our tentative schedule:
Kickoff: Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 8:30 a.m.
Domain 1 – Marketing Research: Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Domain 2 – Marketing Planning: Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 8:30 a.m.
Domain 3 – Client & Business Development: Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 8:30 a.m.
Domain 4 – Proposals: Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 8:30 a.m.
Domain 5 – Promotional Activity: Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 8:30 a.m.
Domain 6 – Management: Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 8:30 a.m.
Wrap-Up: Tuesday, Feb. 23 (time TBD)
CPSM Exam Window: March 2027
The study group is designed to supplement your individual preparation, not replace it. Participants should plan to study between sessions using the six-book MARKENDIUM series, which covers the CPSM Domains of Practice.
Whether CPSM has been on your professional bucket list for years or you’re just starting to wonder if you’re ready, this could be your year.
